In April 2019, Specwargear.com got a chance to visit the War Remnants Museum in Vietnam. This museum is located at Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) and was opened in 1975. It is one of the most popular museums in Vietnam, attracting 500,000 visitors each year.
Museum stores more than 20,000 documents, exhibits and films, in which more than 1,500 documents, artifacts, films have been applied to introduce in eight thematic exhibitions frequently. One themed room features a very nice collection of small arms and ordnance. Large military vehicles are displayed at the walled yard, including an UH-1 “Huey” helicopter, an F-5A fighter, a BLU-82″Daisy Cutter” bomb, M48 tank, an A-1 Skyraider attack bomber, an A-37 Dragonfly attack bomber, an CH-47 Chinook helicopter, an M113 armored personnel carrier, and etc… One part of the museum is the “Tiger Cages”, a replica of the special cells in the Con Dao Jail where South Vietnamese government kept political prisoners.
