A Trip to London Bridge Trading Company (LBT)
Back in 2015, SWG made a trip to Virginia Beach. At a local gun show, we met Doctor Doug McDougal, founder and CEO of London Bridge Trading Company (LBT). LBT is renowned for the design and manufacture of high performance tactical gears for the U.S. Military and law enforcement agencies. Doctor McDougal had a booth at the gun show selling various military surplus and LBT products. We told him our next stop would be the LBT headquarters. He was very happy and extended us a warm welcome. Doctor McDougal also shared several interesting stories and talked about the challenges of running LBT and making it successful. Doctor McDougal was a very friendly, sincere, and humble man. He values and treasures his customers very much.
After a short ride, we finally arrived at London Bridge Road, where the headquarters of LBT were located. It was a state of the art facility of 68,000 square feet, comprised of office and warehouse buildings. It was built to accommodate the special requirements of LBT and it housed over two hundred employees.
When we walked into the lobby, we saw the iconic red lion statue of LBT. To the left of the lobby is the R&D department and factory. The factory is huge, capable of mass production and special customized projects. To the right of the lobby is the LBT retail store. The store displays an enormous collection of LBT and LBX products such as plate carrier, chest rigs, belts, holsters, backpack, pouches, tactical uniforms and T-shirt. Hanging on the walls are shields of various military SOF and LE units. Store manager Sam was friendly and knowledgeable, and provided the same excellent customer service as Doctor McDougal did. They both truly believed in, and cared about what LBT does as a company. If you ever get to go down to Virginia Beach, be sure to visit LBT—a great company run by great people.
